Your privacy, in plain English
This policy explains what information Best Aussie Wear (bestaussiewear.com) collects when you use our site, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Last updated: 25 October 20261. Who we are
Best Aussie Wear (“BAW”, “we”, “us”, “our”) operates bestaussiewear.com, an Australian buying-guide website covering clothing, shoes and accessories. If you have any question about this policy or your information, please reach us through our Contact page — we do not publish a personal email address on this site.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address and the contents of your message so we can reply. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our hosting and analytics tools may automatically collect technical information such as your device type, browser, operating system, the pages you view, how long you spend on them, referring websites, and an approximate location based on your IP address. This information is collected using cookies and similar technologies, described below.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive personal information such as payment details, passwords or government identification numbers. We never sell products directly, so we never collect your payment information.
3. How we use information
- To reply to enquiries you send through the contact form
- To send our newsletter, if you have subscribed (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- To understand which guides readers find useful, and to improve our content and site design
- To keep the site secure and detect misuse or technical problems
- To meet legal obligations, if they arise
4. Cookies
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser. We and our partners use cookies to:
- Run the site — essential cookies that support security and basic functions
- Measure traffic — analytics cookies that tell us which pages are read and how visitors find us
- Track affiliate referrals — when you click a product link to a retailer such as Amazon, that retailer may place a cookie so a qualifying purchase can be attributed to us (see Section 6)
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking cookies will not stop you reading our guides, but some features may work less well.
5. Analytics
We may use reputable website analytics services (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate — for example, which guides are most popular and which search terms bring readers to us. These services use cookies and collect usage data under their own privacy policies. We look at trends, not at identifying individual visitors, and we do not sell analytics data to anyone.
6. Third-party links & Amazon
Our guides link to third-party retailers, mainly Amazon Australia (amazon.com.au). When you click a product link, you leave our site and the retailer’s own privacy policy and terms apply to anything you do there, including any purchase.
Best Aussie Wear is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and the Amazon Australia affiliate program. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. To make this work, Amazon may place and read cookies on your device when you follow a link from our site, so that a qualifying purchase can be credited to us. Amazon’s use of that information is governed by Amazon’s own privacy notice. Please also read our Affiliate Disclosure for more detail.
We are not responsible for the content, products or privacy practices of third-party sites we link to.
7. Data retention
We keep contact-form enquiries only for as long as we need them to deal with your message and keep reasonable business records. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained in line with the settings of the analytics provider we use. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.
8. Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect information, including serving the site over HTTPS and using reputable hosting and security tools. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s privacy
This site is written for adult shoppers and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us via the Contact page and we will delete it.
10. Your rights & choices
You can ask us to:
- Show you the personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date
- Delete your personal information, where we are not required to keep it
- Remove you from our newsletter — every email includes an unsubscribe link
To make a request, contact us through the Contact page and we will respond within a reasonable time. You also control cookies through your browser settings, as described in Section 4.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. When we make changes, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
